Who we are

We handle personal information in line with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and, where it applies, the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What we collect
- Information you give us: your name, email address, phone number, company and message when you fill in a contact or enquiry form, subscribe to our newsletter, or contact us directly.
- Orders: when you buy from our shop, we collect your billing and delivery details and your order history. Payments are processed by our payment providers, and we never see or store your full card details.
- Usage information: with your consent, we collect your pages visited, time on site, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at our site.
- Comments: if you comment, we keep your name, email, comment, IP address and browser details to help prevent spam.
How we use it
We use your information to reply to enquiries and deliver our services, to process and deliver orders, to send newsletters and marketing you’ve signed up for (you can unsubscribe at any time), to understand and improve how our website performs, and to keep the site secure and meet our legal obligations.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to make the site work, such as your shopping cart and login. With your permission, we also use statistics and marketing cookies. You choose which ones to allow in our cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time. See our Cookie Policy for the full list.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run the business:
- Google Analytics, for website statistics, only after you consent.
- HubSpot, to manage contacts, forms and customer relationships.
- Mailchimp, to send our newsletters and marketing emails.
- WooCommerce and our payment and delivery partners, to process orders.
- Akismet, to filter spam comments.
- Our website hosting and security providers.
Some of these providers are based outside South Africa, such as in the US or the EU. When your information goes abroad, we use providers that protect it to a standard at least equal to POPIA.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and customer information for as long as we need it to serve you and to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations. Order records are usually kept for 5 years. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept according to our Google Analytics retention settings.
Your rights
You have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you and to get a copy, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it (including for direct marketing), and to withdraw your consent at any time.
To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to South Africa’s Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za) or, in the EU or UK, to your local data protection authority.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including SSL encryption, security plugins and restricted admin access.
